Learners of DAPS Cambridge international celebrated first day of science week with various experimentation activties . They performed following experimentation.
1. To investigate how temperature affects the rate of reaction. (Group-1)
Material required - Vitamin C tablets, water(hot, cold,
normal), glass
Procedure
· Take the
glasses
· Fill them with
hot, cold and normal temperature water
· start the
stopwatch
· note the time
using stopwatch
· Record the
observations in observation table
· And write
conclusion
2. To investigate how surface area affects rate of reaction (Group-2)
Material required - water soluble tablets , water,
Dish, stopwatch
Procedure
· Take the dish
and pour water
· Take the
tablets (full, half broken, 3 parts, 4 parts)
· put them in
water
· note the time
using stopwatch
· Record the
observations in observation table
· And write
conclusion
3. How does temperature affects the rate at which water is
transported in stem of plants (Group-3)
Material required - flower with stem, ink, water(hot
normal and cold) , glass
Procedure
· Take the glass
and pour normal water and hot water in other glass
· Put the stem
with flower
· observe the
colour change in flower
· note the time
· Record the
observations in observation table
4. To investigate how does depth affects pressure (Group-4)
Material required - water, plastic bottle, needle
Procedure
· Take the
plastic bottle filled with water
· using needle
make holes at different heights
· Observe the
water streams
· record observations and make conclusions
