Learners of stage8 performed Paper chromatography technique to separate the dyes of coloured pens. The activity was a group task. They took glass jars, chromatography paper, coloured pens, pencils, tap water. They mark a point with different coloured pens at the same spot on chromatography paper. They put water in glass jar and then put chromatography paper in it so that the marked spots are just above the water. After 10 min. they observed the separated dyes of different colors.
