Saving soil movement

 
















Learners of class VIII and VII participated in saving soil movement. They have written the letters to prime minister showing concerns about raising soil pollution and how we can contribute our bit to protect it as a part of Earth day activity. They enjoyed the activity and pledge to not use single use plastics and throw as a garbage. 


Analysing Stomata in lily leaf through microscope - Class VIII

 




















Learners of Class VIII performed the individual activity in which they performed the analysis of stomata from the leaf of lily. It was demonstrated in the class how to prepare the slide of stomata with lily leaf. The leaf was taken, then broken so that the thin layer of epidermis comes which can be put on the slide . Safrannin solution was dropped over it and coverslip was put. It was observed under the microscope. 

The learners was very much engaged and focused on analysing the stomatal pore in the leaf.

EARTH DAY(22.04.2022) CELEBRATION

 























Learners of Cambridge International celebrated Earth Day with immense enthusisasm. Stage-8 learners research on Plastic additives and their effects on human health. By this research they got various other chemicals that have been added in the plastic manufacturing and how it impacts the human health. They analysed the individual ways to reduce the use of plastic in their daily life. They also pledge for a plastic free society. Also, Learners of Stage-9 Research on Global hotspots of plastic debris ingestion by marine animals and its impact on marine life. They analysed largest contributor of plastic in the world. Various health hazards of marine life by plastic debris, change in chemical composition of water by plastic debris and how this waste can be reduced. Through this research the learners got aware of plastic harm and reuse , reduce its use in near future.

Investigating Nutrients in food

 


















Learners of Stage-8 investigating nutrients present in food ( They tested the food for Proteins, carbohydrates and fats)

They took four test tubes and label them A, B, C, D. In A they put Potato piece, B- Grind pulse, C- Crushed cashews and in D- water which acts as a control.

They then put some water . After that they put iodine solution and tested for starch . They repeated the steps and then performed biuret test (with copper sulfate solution and sodium hydroxide) .

They observed colour change in different foods. Food containing starch turn blue-black and food containing protein turn violet in colour.
