Investigating Pangaea

Pangaea is a supercontinent to have existed and the first to be reconstructed by scientists. Learners of stage-9 made a model of Pangea. Learners had an outline of world map. They cut out the shapes of the main continents. Experimenting with the arrangements of the continents to make pairs of the continents fit together. They investigated whether it is possible to make all the continents fit together to suggest what Pangea looked like. The activity made learners much more clear about the concept of supercontinents.

Investigating Conduction in solids

Learners of class VIII performed an investigation in which they have find which substance conducts heat faster. They chose a substance on that they attached pins at specific distance using wax. They heat it at one end and noted the time of falling of each pins. The substance which transfer heat fast will cause the pins to fall in a much lesser time. The activity was interesting to perform and made students learn better.
