STAGE-9 LAW OF ENERGY CONSERVATION ACTIVITY

Learners of class-8 Performed Individual activity in which they observed energy being transferred from one object to another. They have filled two identical water bottles. Tied a piece of string about 10cm  long to the neck of each bottle. Stretched a piece of string between the two supports and tied securely at each end. The strings must be high enough for the water bottles to hang down without touching the surface below. Tied two bottles to the supporting string so they hang down at equal heights. The learners then described the movement of two bottles and explained it using law of conservation of energy. The activity enhances learners understanding of the concepts.

Stage-8 Distance-Time Group activity

Learners of class-7 Performed group activity in which they measured the speed of ball descending from a ramp. They have used stop watch to measure time how long it takes a ball to go from the top to the bottom. They have kept the distance same marked by the inch tape. Then they repeated the measurements in a group and discarded any anomalous results. They plotted the graph of their measurements. The activity makes the concept interesting.
