SCIENCE WEEK DAY-4 INNOVATION CLASS -8
LEARNERS OF DAVPS, Cambridge International performed Brainstorm activity in which they analyse the problems that they observe in near surroundings be it related to household, farmers, porters, labourers , society and think of innovative solutions for it that help others.
Learners participated in activity with immense enthusiasm and generated innovative ideas and solutions.

SCIENCE WEEK DAY-2 EXPERIMENTATION CLASS-7
Learners of DAVPS Cambridge International performed experimentation as a part of science week celebration. They have been guided with following experiments which they performed in class timings
1. To investigate how does temperature affect the rate of diffusion ( group-1)
Material required - Glass, ink (Red or blue), water (cold,
normal, hot), stop watch
Procedure
· Pour water (hot,
cold, and normal in three glasses)
· Put 4 drops of
ink in three glasses of water
· start the
stopwatch and stop the stopwatch when the ink fully diffuse in water
· Note the readings
and make the observation table
· Draw a graph
2. To perform the reaction
between Acetic acid with sodium bicarbonate and test for carbon dioxide (group-2)
Material required - Plastic Bottle, Vinegar, Baking soda,
Match stick
Procedure
· Take the plastic
bottle
· Pour vinegar and
then baking soda
· Close the lid of
plastic bottle
· use match stick
and observe if it extinguish
· Note your
observations in observation table
· Write the
conclusion and chemical reaction involved.
3. To investigate which surface of leaf has most stomata (Group-3)
Material required - Fresh green leaf , Glass bowl, warm
water
Procedure
· Take the glass
bowl and put some warm water
· Push the leaf in
water
· observe the
appearance of bubbles
· count the no. of
bubbles on both surface
· Note your
observations in observation table
4. Investigating the lung capacity be measuring the volume of air you
can push out of your lungs(Group-4)
Material required - Plastic Bottle (3L), Marker, water,
bowl, tube
Procedure
· Mark a scale on
plastic bottle with marker
· Fill the bottle
to the very top with water
· Put water in a
large bowl until it is about half full.
· Turn the bottle
upside down
· Slide a piece of
tubing in the bottle . Take a deep breath in and breathe out it will push the water out.
· Measure your lung
capacity
Learners enthusiastically participated and given results and conclusions
