Happy Birthday to Sir Isaac Newton

Isaac Newton, in full Sir Isaac Newton, (born December 25, 1642 Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire, England—died March 20 [March 31], 1727, London), English physicist and mathematician, who was the culminating figure of the Scientific Revolution of the 17th century. In optics, his discovery of the composition of white light integrated the phenomena of colours into the science of light and laid the foundation for modern physical optics. In mechanics, his three laws of motion, the basic principles of modern physics, resulted in the formulation of the law of universal gravitation. In mathematics, he was the original discoverer of the infinitesimal calculus. Newton’s Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy, 1687) was one of the most important single works in the history of modern science.

National Energy Conservation Day 2020

National Energy conservation day is celebrated every year on 14 December.

The true meaning of energy conservation is to avoid unnecessary use of energy and to use at least energy so that energy sources can be saved for future uses. To make energy conservation plan more effective, every person should include energy conservation in their behaviour.

Phet Simulation Activity - Stage 8 and 9

Learners of Satge -8 Through pHET Simulation learnt about the magnetic field around bar magnet and also Earth is acting as an inverted Bar magnet by moving the compass needle aroung them . Also, They learnt about longitudinal waves and sound as a longitudinal wave by moving the slinky in the simulation.

Learners of Stage-9 through pHET simulations learnt about the rates of reactions, they added some reactant particles and increased and decreased the temperature . They observed that as the temperature increases the collisions and movement of particles becomes faster due to which rate of reaction increases.

INVESTIGATING MAGNETIC MATERIAL - STAGE-7 ACTIVITY

Learners of Stage-8 are investigating Magnetic materials. They Tested if some house hold materials are magnetic or not by testing them with a magnet. They Separated Magnetic and non-magnetic materials and recorded the results in result table

Happy Gurunanank Jayanti

DIWALI CELEBRATIONS- HAPPY DIWALI 2020

Celebrated during the Hindu Lunisolar month Kartika (between mid-October and mid-November), Diwali is the “victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance”, even as different parts of India celebrate it in the belief of numerous legends. The most commonly accepted legend, particularly in North India, is the homecoming of Lord Rama along with wife Sita, brother Lakshman, and Hanuman, to Ayodhya after he rose victorious over Ravana.

During the festival of lights, devotees worship Goddess Lakshmi, and since no celebration is deemed concluded without invoking Lord Ganesha, both of them are worshipped side by side. The puja is followed by the distribution of sweets and gifts among relatives, neighbors, and friends.

Houses are adorned with new goods, thus making shopping a must-do affair before Diwali. Online stores and shopping malls come up with Diwali offers and these are deals not to be missed! Jewelry, crockery, home decor, etc. get a makeover during this festive season as people also buy gifts for friends and families.

Streets glow up with spectacular lightings, all around you’ll see decorations of garlands, rangolis, and candles. Sparklers and an assortment of crackers are burst, adding to the illuminated environment during Amavasya (new moon). Such is the enthusiasm in the air!

Learners of Cambridge International DAVPS celebrated diwali by taking pledge to celebrate it as a green diwali by creating crafts from waste materials, making own candles by reusing waste plastics and making tasty sweets. Students celebrated it with great enthusiasm .
