RALLY TO PROMOTE ECO FRIENDLY DIWALI










A Rally was organised by DAV PUSHPANJALI CAMBRIDGE STUDENTS CLASS (3-6) on 25 OCTOBER 2019, to promote celebration of Ecofriendly Diwali by spreading the message of not bursting crackers, using earthen lamps to light the houses instead of energy consuming lights and giving ecofriendly gifts.
By doing this we can stop pollution and save our lives from many deadly pulmonary disease also we prevent animals from being harmed by noise pollution

To test the presence of carbon dioxide gas in the reaction of metal carbonates and acid by lime water





In the activity students observed the reaction between sodium bicarbonate and dilute sulfuric acid in the test tube, the gas which was released passed in the U-TUBE having lime water.
The lime water turns milky in the presence of gas which shows that the gas released was carbon dioxide.


To investigate the effect of acid rain on the growth of cress seeds - ACTIVITY OF CLASS 8







In the activity students took four petridishes, in each petridish they first place some cotton. After they moisten the cotton with some water. They place sprinkle 20 cress seeds in each petridish .Then in
PETRIDISH A - They put 10 drops of water
PETRIDISH B- They put 10 drops of citric acid (present in lemon)
PETRIDISH C- They put 5 drops of water + 5 drops of citric acid
PETRIDISH D- They put 1 drop acid + 9 drops of water
After 1 week they will observe in which petridish the plant growth is affected

WORLD FOOD DAY






World food day is a day of action dedicated to tackling global hunger, held annually on 16 October. People around the world come together to declare their commitment to eradicate world wide hunger from our lives.

The theme of World Food Day 2019 is “Our Actions Are Our Future. 

Healthy Diets for a "ZeroHunger World". It focuses on tackling global hunger. Due to globalisation, urbanisation and income growth, our diets and eating habits are changed. Instead of seasonal, fibre rich food and plant based food we are shifted to refined, starches, sugar, fats, salt, processed food, meat, etc. It has been seen that in urban areas time spent on preparing food or meals is very less because people these days rely on ready mate food, supermarkets, fast food, street food, etc.

"Investigating the effect of temperature on the growth of Bread Mould " ACTIVITY OF CLASS 8





Four Breads were taken and put in different temperature conditions
Bread-1 IN FREEZER
Bread-2 IN FRIDGE
Bread-3 IN COOL AND DARK PLACE
Bread-4 IN WARM AND MOIST PLACE

Students observed the growth of bread mould in different temperature conditions, they counted the number of colonies of bread mould and estimated the percentage area covered by bread mould in different temperature conditions.

Investigating conditions that are needed for the rust to form? CLASS 7 Activity




Three test tubes represents :

Test tube-1 : Iron nail + tap water

Test tube-2 : Iron nail + Calcium chloride , mouth of test tube was closed with a cork

Test tube -3 : Iron nail + tap water and a layer of oil , mouth of test tube was closed with a cork

Learners will be able to conclude about the conditions necessary for the rusting to occur (oxygen and water)

CHANDRAYAAN-2 LANDING


Dear Parent
I earnestly request all of you not to sleep on September 6th but watch the final few hour's of OUR AWESOME SPACECRAFT, CHANDRAYAAN-2, as it will land on the South Pole of our moon around 1.40 AM on September 7th. Although, I have complete confidence in OUR OWN ISRO, please remember that we are dealing with lunar dust which is very fine and also electrically charged. So much so that it sticks to any surface....We need the collective prayers of 1.2 billion Indians to make this a great and unprecedented success. ISRO with a budget of $ 1.2 billion is really giving NASA, with a budget of $ 21 billion, a run for its money. Since I have so many dear friends who speak and write most major languages, not to speak of friends from every religion and residing in so many countries, I humbly request all of you to translate this message into your respective languages and forward to as many people as possible so it will reach every Indian on this planet. I have never ever made such a request so please honour me...BRAVO INDIA, BRAVO ISRO....


KEY POINT
The touch down of 'VIKRAM' Lander is scheduled between 1:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. followed by roll out of rover 'Pragyan' between 5:30 a.m to 6:30 a.m.The vikram named after Dr. Vikram A. Sarabhai, father of indian space programme. 27 Kg robotic vehicle can travel upto 500 m from the landing spot on and uses solar energy for its functioning.

Key Points:
  • Background: Chandrayan-2 is India's second lunar exploration mission after Chandrayaan-Developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the mission was launched from the second launch pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre on 22 July 2019 at 2.43 PM IST (09:13 UTC) to the Moon by a Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark III.
  • Mission: The Chandrayaan 2 mission is set to explore the south polar region of the Moon, which is also known as Dark Side of the Moon due to the absence of sunlight in and around the craters of the Lunar Polar surface. The main scientific objective is to map the location and abundance of lunar water.
  • Components: It carried 3 components namely the Orbiter, The Lander ‘Vikram’, and the Rover ‘Pragyaan. The Lander has been named after the father of the Indian Space Programme, Dr Vikram A Sarabhai. The life span of Vikram is one lunar day which is equivalent to 14 Earth days. It has the capability to communicate with The Indian Deep Space Network (IDSN) at Byalalu near Bangalore and can also communicate with the Rover and the Orbiter too.
  • Schedule: Chandrayaan-2 will take 54 days to accomplish the task of landing on the Moon through meticulously planned orbital phases.
